Under the philosophy of Happo-en, “Beautifying Japan,” we were entrusted with the design of two banquet halls.
On the second floor, “KIOTO – Kino” offers a bright venue overlooking the garden’s lush trees. Inspired by the theme of a treasure box, the space is composed of vibrant layers of light and shadow created by the foliage, evoking the gentle sound of rustling leaves. To further enhance this atmosphere, traditional kumiko latticework handcrafted in Toyama was applied throughout the space, creating a refreshing and open ambiance as if standing beneath dappled sunlight.
In addition, photographs of the actual trees in the Happo-en garden were captured, digitized, and incorporated into the carpet design, seamlessly connecting the interior with the surrounding landscape.
