At building material exhibitions, visitors encounter countless materials and samples, yet much of the experience is quickly forgotten, while many exhibition fixtures are discarded after only a few days.

Demold works with aluminum, a lightweight, flexible, and recyclable material that can create a wide variety of textures and reflections. Rather than simply displaying the material, we wanted visitors to experience it through their own actions.

“Aluminum Forest” is formed by numerous aluminum columns covered with small, removable aluminum panels. Visitors can touch, remove, and take the panels home. As the panels disappear, the wood underneath is gradually revealed, and the landscape continues to change throughout the exhibition.

By connecting material, people, space, and circulation, the installation proposes a more memorable and sustainable way of exhibiting materials.
